Yes, because I would imagine their are a lot of batteries that are just shoved in bags. These would be much more prone to getting damaged than properly prepared batteries as cargo. There have been at least a further 6 incidents since 2008 and some of those on passenger jets.
that makes no sense....if there have been 6 incidents in the last couple of years then why aren't these batteries banned from being checked in on a flight????it just seems like a big deal being made out of nothing....
