With the new alliances between UA-US and DL-NW-CO, that leaves AA out in the cold (unless you count the TW deal, which didn't really improve AA's route structure much). With a strong agreement with AS already in place, it certainly would make sense for AA to at least codeshare with HP. That certainly would solve all of these problems.
