But that`s only if you secure premium class upgrade at check in which is I guess a huge risk.

I think it is only 1876 PP one way on a Tokuwari\tabiwari and if upgraded it is 3,352 PP which is a lot more making the run worth it so all in all it is a gamble to take this route and hope for upgrades. Having said that i have not done any research to see whether premium class is normally sold out in advance on this route or not.
