Thanks for clarifying (and for working on a Sunday, no less!).

Were double upgrades available, I'd already found the most AMAZING loophole:

W fare LAX-JFK (per the t&c, W fares on AA may be upgraded w/BA miles): $666 + 20k BA miles (converted from my Amex MR pts) = sub-$700 journey in transcon F, usually sold for about $3k.

Way to ruin my weekend fantasy
