I expect to hit MVGP status for the first time on Nov 5. Quick questions on the 4 upgrade certs they send you - do they have an expiration date? And, do they send you 4 when you first hit MVPG, and then again on Jan 1, or just the first time you make that status?

I'm asking because I'd like to book a flight from LAX to GEG on Nov 19 and I'd like to do so now when fares are cheap ahead of the Thanksgiving rush. However, if I book now, I'm booking at MVP status, and my new MVPG status won't "count" for purposes of UG preference even after I make that status correct?

But that point is moot if the paper UG certs expire at the end of this calendar year, as I'll unlikely need all 4 of them before the year is out, so I'll just paper upgrade if I don't get an MVP upgrade.

Any insight from you MVPGs is appreciated.
