Unlike terminal C (delta), my experience at terminal B (American) has been much better. I am not sure how crowded it will get on New Year's day, but your biggest problem might be checking in rather than security: lines for both regular check-in agents and e-ticket machines can get very long and messy. So do the online check-in if you can.

As for security, if your departure gate is B30, you will get the elite security line (but you will need to take a bus to get to the "enhanced" remote terminal for Eagle).

If you are in the regular terminal (any gate other than B30), you will most likely be leaving from the Eagle area, which does not have an elite line(at least when I last went which was a while ago), so it might be a little longer (but no bus).

So, to answer your question, I would be more concerned with check-in, and allow 30min for security clearance. Any other opinions?
