I think the Citi Forward is a solid card, provided that you use it mostly for the 5 points at restaurants, movies, and books. You can even use the card for Amazon.com purchases and get 5 points. 5 points can easily translate to 5% if you use the points for the right redemptions, starting at about 10,000 points for $100 Gift Certificates.
I don't have the card now, but I plan on applying soon. For a city dweller, I think it's a great card to have in your wallet.
The Fidelity AMEX 2% card is good as well. I think it makes sense to use it for everyday spend...and then use the Forward for 5 purchases that get you 5 points or where AMEX is not accepted.
