I'm Silver, but I was able to select 1A/K on the outbound at T-72. On the return, I had seen that 1A was already taken and 1K was free, but I asked at check-in if 1A/K were available and the passenger in 1A was duly bumped to make room for us!
The passenger in 1A should not have been seat-shifted. I don't know how you expected this? You are only a Silver.....not even Golds can bump a pax.
