LOL...

Saad you revive in me a big issue I have had in the past with airlines...

Those shopping portals have gotten better but OMG yes. When they lose your miles they LOSE your miles! There almost IS no other recourse than to simply make up an amount and send it in. Looking back, maybe THAT is why I did just that!!

I used to always complain about that very thing and the airlines were total scammers. Yes, they should be cited for fraud.

The thing is, though, it's the wild west, and they have no accountability. There's no agency or consortium or court to regulate this sort of behavior so they can, in fact, just lose your miles and do so by not properly designing their programs or their database/tracking systems.

I think I was left no choice (people in here who study social behavior could use this in a criminology class even )

I think these days it's a bit better but what people could do is install an app called JING on their PCs and use it to literally capture the very mouse actions and clickings being done on screen when signing up for a promo and entering info to submit it. For example, clicking on the portal page in shopping on an airline mall, entering your FF number, clicking to the page of the store, paying, etc... You could then save the 'film' as a file and use it as 'evidence' when the airline claims you must have not signed in properly or something.

Since it was wild west, though, I figured, who cares. I'll just make it up and it'll work. It worked. Airline gave my miles. Good. One for the customer!

MM

They've since improved their programs, which is what I really wanted all along. (even though in this particular case, the miles would have originally gone to someone else)
