You can try, but they're pretty smart about that and won't pay out commissions on personal purchases. You'd have to jump through a few hoops to make it so that their automated system couldn't track you... and if they did an audit, they could reclaim any "mistaken" commissions (that's one reason why you need a CC registered on your account to be an Associate).

Unless your AmEx points are valued at more than 1.5% each, you're better off just using an Amazon.com VISA, since it gives 3% (redeemable for cash, Amazon GCs, or other things) for Amazon.com purchases.

Nope. As discussed a number of times in this thread, Amazon's affiliate agreement specifically prohibits affiliates from providing rewards.
