An article in the FT yesterday said that part of the reason for the new trains was to start a London - Amsterdam service, with a journey time of less than 4 hours. Would be interesting to hear how many current BA flyers from LON-AMS would be tempted by a 4 hour rail journey instead, especially if you had wi-fi access for most of the journey.
