My traveling companion and I were originally assigned 9G,H prior to clearing F (when 100k got you two F tickets). Several days later, at takeoff and continuing on home to SFO, we saw the aircraft with a tarp over that section. It was a very solemn moment I'll never forget.
Still, I don't want to take away from the tribute he so deserves here. My heartfelt condolences to his family.
