Here's my other question along these lines:

I'm trying to go to Moscow in Feb or March - I go to aa.com, try a search by fare from DCA and I get back there are no matching flights between the two cities.

If I search by schedule, however, I can find flights on AA to LHR and then take BA on to DME.

Why can't the site do the fare search? Very strange.
