When trying to make reservations in the More Options window, we have 2 choices for carriers. It's either AA, Eagle or AmericanConnection or All Carriers. Why not have a third choice, AA and it's partners only?

If I know that I could get from point A to point B using AA or one of it's partners or a combination of, it would seem to me that I should have that choice, without going through the maze of schedules, 50 choices, etc...etc.. and then, many times, the partner airline will not show up, even when I know they do fly to the destination.

Are there some laws prohibiting AA.com from doing this?
