Right, but what is really new in this year movement is that the October 12th strike will be "unlimited".
Some of us remember the 1995 "unlimited" strike which had put the country into chaos due to stop of public transportation for more than 10 days.

For those not following French social news, it is worth noting that the strikes may be a regular occurrence for some more time. They are currently being called more or less every 10 days and French unions are currently debating whether to 'toughen' the movement. There has been no significant decline in the numbers demonstrating on the various strike days since September.
