Children receive the same baggage allowance as adults.

For infants:

* No allowance on Australian domestic and regional flights.
* 1 piece to/from The Americas, total dimensions not exceeding 115cm (45in). For tickets issued from 1 December 2010, for travel from 1 June 2011, checked baggage allowance will be restricted to one piece at 10kg (22lb).
* 10kg (22lb) on all other international routes (other than The Americas).

Adults accompanying infants are entitled to check in one additional infant item. This is in addition to the baggage allowance for adults. For tickets issued from 1 December 2010, for travel from 1 June 2011, adults accompanying infants are entitled to check in up to three infant items for each travelling infant. Infant items can include; collapsible stroller or push-chair, collapsible cot or bassinet; or car seat or baby capsule. Charges will apply for any baggage carried in addition to the checked baggage allowance and three infant items.
NB, this makes Star Alliance Gold much more valuable. e.g. travelling from BNE-FRA on SQ, I can carry 40kg. If I had QF Gold, I could only carry 33kg or 32kg on the new system.

Shame that they don't offer 64kg for other OWEs.
