Hey all,
I did a search on this topic but couldn't find anything relevant written in the past year, so please excuse me bumping an old thread.
I will be in Berlin on a Sunday in November for about 36 hours. From what I've been able to tell, the main hotels worth staying at in Berlin are:
- Ritz-Carlton
- Regent
- Hotel de Rome
- Adlon Kempinski
- Grand Hyatt (Possibly?)
I'll likely book through Amex FHR, so I'd prefer to go with one of their hotels so that I can get a respectable dinner and breakfast as I'll be by myself. The purpose of the trip, however, is really to see the historically significant parts of Berlin (checkpoint charlie, the remains of the wall, the reichstag, the brandenberg gate, etc). Ideally, I'd also like a hotel with rooms that have balconies or at least grand windows overlooking a plaza or interesting area.
Any suggestions? From what I can tell, the Adlon is right where I want to be, but it also seems rather run down and unimpressive. Thanks for your help!
