If a criminal claim is pursued this will give merit to a future civil claim for damages as well. Plus, this is the best chance of this being made public for those of us that have followed this story through court filings and FoI disclosures.

Provided the original story was accurate and not embellished, I wish you every success at bringing this captain to the powers that be to explain and / or pay for his actions.

BTW, you would be better served having police / prosecuters question any witnesses than UA management anyway. The police have the job of dealing with any criminal conduct, UA Management on the other hand is solely interested in mitigating their risks and building a case against the accuser which is you.

I would contact the local police and tell them you want to press charges and take it from there.
