My thanks for all the helpful recommendations as they helped us to narrow the field and make reservations. Given the fact that we would only be staying one night, we've chosen to have lunch at PRI instead of staying there and then move on up the coast to the FS SF for the night after we turn in the rental car.

For anyone reading the thread in the future, we learned that the "special" rate I read about at PRI is not limited to repeat guests, but is tied to the off-peak season beginning November 1st on select accommodations.
