To me, it's a combination of pricing and opportunity. The pricing is high even for short flights, and you don't get the value out of it. The idea of being able to stream Netflix is pretty funny to me, but basic stuff should work. The other issue as was pointed out is the lack of power in flight; there is only so much life the average battery can provide, so I just don't think the value proposition is quite there yet on anything other than premium or semi-premium transcons.
