For those who find themselves having to overnight at FRA and whose budget doesn't extend to the Sheraton or like me are too stingy to pay the rates. We stayed for three nights at the new Park Inn just across the motorway from T2. Used the F&F rate for the first night which includes breakfast and the Gold 2-1 rate on the next two nights.
It is a 10-15 minute walk to the terminal where we used the excellent transport links into the city as well as to Heidelberg for a side trip.....although the ICE train is a bit expensive....49 Euros each for the ride to Heidelberg plus 3 Euros each for a coffee on the way back just to secure a seat as it was standing room only.
