I have a 5 night booking over New Year's Eve for a King Club Darling Harbour View Room using 2 of my Priority Privilege BOGO certificates. The reservation shows the first 3 nights at $315/night and the final 2 nights as free (the nights of the 31st and 1st)
Interestingly my credit card was precharged last week for the entire stay. I made the booking 6 months ago and am sure that there was nothing in the reservation about a full deposit being due 3 months in advance although I am aware that this is common for Sydney hotels over NYE. Unfortunately I seem to have deleted my confirmation from when I made the reservation.
I suppose there are two things I would like to know.
1) As the reservation has now been charged is the hotel required to honor the Priority Privilege Certificates even though it will no longer be a Priority Club hotel?
2) As I booked prior to the announcement of the rebranding wouldn't it have been reasonable for the hotel to notify me that it will no longer be participating in the Priority Club Program and that I will not be getting any points (should have amounted to about 25000 with the current Double Points Promo) or status recognition and given me the opportunity to change to another IHG property prior to charging me for the stay?
