Now they are talking about starting the service at the ends of this month. DMRC that had to provide safety clearance certificate and Reliance, the operator, are blaming each other. Whomever might be ultimately responsible for the delay, the airport metro was not able to get a safety clearance certificate from DMRC.
This is how one station, Shivaji Stadium, on the line looked like on Oct 1, two days before the inauguration of Commonwealth Games.

The line looks far from completion despite claims by some Indian apologists that the line is ready. Following claims have been made:
The real station is underground and is complete.
  1. What you see in the picture is only the canopy on the surface and does not interfere with operation of the line.
  2. Even if the station isn't complete, the line could operate between the airport and NDLS without stopping at Shivaji Stadium. Never mind the fact that one is supposed to be able to check in, along with their luggage, deposit the luggage at the station, and get their boarding pass.
The line can ve inaugurated and be in operation without the Shivaji Stadium station.

What is it with some people. They don't understand what completion means? The airport was inaugurated before it became operational or functional. The domestic terminal is still not in operation and is not expected to be for a couple of months. I have to go back to the tailor analogy. After continually failing to deliver your suit on every promised date, you finally go to pick up your suit. Once again, you are told, "You are offered a xcup of tea instead. Not that it's n ot ready. It's just about ready. The boy is sewing on the buttons and making buttonholes. The suit IS ready to be worn. You can use pins instead of the buttons. So what's the big deal? "
