Have they tried it with a plane of that size before?

The only service that AS has reduced service from in regard to Hawaii is a move from year round ANC-OGG to seasonal service- the rest has been expansion AFAIK...

I think HA used to fly it with their 767. In any case, AS seems to be willing to invest $$$ in its Hawaii service so they are probably the most likely airline to keep this route alive for a while. I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised to see it go... or go seasonally at least.
