. Life sucks when you dont have much $$ and I am trying to help a friend in a bad situation. Thanks for anyone that can help F'Talkers are usually pretty good people and I hope some of you can help.

My friend is involved in a nasty child custody battle and she has very little $$. Her ex has taken her children out of California against court order and she has not seen them since March. She finally got a hearing on calendar at family court through a pro bono lawyer and now he (the ex) calls and tells her she can come and see the kids this week (no time for planning etc.). Is anyone familiar with a motel/hotel in the general Phoenix area that is $65 a night or less and is on a transportation line (bus/train). I did a search and several LaQunita's/Motel 6 etc. come up, but I dont know the area and am leary of their safety. She will have 3 children ages 11, 7, 4 and we were thinking water parks zoo etc. for entertainment.

We are looking for clean and safe near transportation lines that take children, not how I usually travel. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks again for your understanding.
