doesn't matter whether they "care" or not because they have no way to enforce the terms of the contract that try to make you board a plane ex-DFW, and they know they would be laughed out of court for trying...

at any rate, they have no way for their systems to notice or care. [unless, as was pointed out, you're dumb enough to try to short-check luggage].
