One thing I should clarify, KL Sentral is not downtown but is not that far away and cabs are cheap though it can be difficult to get them to use the meter sometimes. See the thread on just that subject in this forum. So if you want to stay near KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Center) or Bukit Bintang, be sure to leave some time for the cab ride back to KL Sentral.
