I recently got a Citibank AAdvantage Mastercard and signed up for some AT&T services to get more miles. Both companies manged to disregard my provided AAdvantage number and opened up two new AAdvantage accounts. I emailed AA Customer Service and asked them to merge the accounts. They responded and said they would, but I'm wondering if I need to contact AT&T and Citibank to update my AAdvantage number. Does merging accounts take care of this?

Thanks!

Something like the above occured to my wife when she got her new AA Citibank card.
Found speaking to Citibank ( a number of times) completely useless and ATT would be just about the same IMHO.
Matter was resolved by calling AA customer service and giving them the two or more Advantage numbers (I assume you have at least two) and tell which one you want to merge into, it took less than 48 hours before she was able to view the changes on AA.com.
