Dl 767 er nrt-sfo
Within the past two weeks I received a notice that the A330 for early-December has been changed to 767-ER. Called Delta immediately and had my seat moved from row 31 to row 20 by a friendly and helpful agent.
Many of the current DL 767-ER aircraft are purchases from AA....I am 6'4" and the flight from SFO-NRT and return in July was OK...seats acceptable for comfort....From SFO-NRT the starboard side of the aircraft had no Seat Belt/Smoking lighting...center air conditioner panels were loose. Aux. engine was not working and one of the mid-plane bathrooms was inoperable....also, lots of Cheerios, dust and assorted junk between the seat supports and fuselage wall....
Cabin crews do not like these 767s in that AA had several, different galley configurations, which makes for slow service due to the alternate locations for meals, etc.
Spoke with a retired UA captain who flew SFO to Frankfurt and London on 767-ERs.....always clean machines with few problems.
Cabin crews, according to the attendants I spoke with in July, much prefer the A330 for the SFO-NRT hop.
Chow was fine, attendants courteous ...July arrivals were ahead of schedule, both ways, with a record-breaking time from departure of aircraft to Friendly Airport Limo at NRT of 15 minutes...I had carry-on. Longest transit has been 40 minutes with checked luggage.
