First, thanks for saying I have a "hysterical approach". Lovely adjective.
Second, go back to the first post. Re-read. I am trying to maximize my euros for segments. If I flew VCE-AMS-BRU-AMS-HAM-VCE on one ticket, I would have had a 1000 euros plus fare. No, I booked as follows:
Ticket 1
16 Sep VCE-AMS-HAM 23 Sep HAM-AMS-VCE
Ticket 2
16 Sep HAM-AMS-BRU 23 Sep BRU-AMS-HAM
Ticket 3
16 Sep BRU-HAM-VCE 23 Sep VCE-AMS-BRU
Look at column 1 and start at the top, VCE-AMS-HAM-AMS-BRU-AMS-VCE
Now, look at column 2, start at the bottom, VCE-AMS-BRU-AMS-HAM-AMS-BRU
It is low risk for losing a segment as long as the first flight of the day goes out ok. Because all of my other segments are attached to the same plane. AMS-HAM-AMS is the same plane. AMS-BRU-AMS is the same plane. and the connection times to planes in AMS are always more than 90 minutes (sometimes 2 hours or more), EXCEPT that first connection on the 23Sep VCE-AMS-BRU. It was only 50 minutes. So, you see, I couldn't take the flight AMS-BRU that they rebooked me on at 135pm because I wouldn't have a return from BRU back to AMS. So, I stayed in AMS, missed the AMS-BRU-AMS segments, and the Crown Lounge supervisor who understood what I was doing was able to keep my AMS-HAM leg from cancelling out because I didn't board in BRU to get to AMS. I just picked up my journey in AMS to HAM and then continued on the last complete portion HAM-AMS-VCE.
Total cost was about 487 euros. I used 2 Delta eCredits worth $200 a piece and booked the 2 most expensive tickets on
www.delta.com and booked the other ticket separately. Total cost was about 100 euros for 12 segments which works out to be about 8.34 euros per segment.
