I very rarely travel in business attire - mainly jeans and a t-shirt. I have plenty of shiny cards and travel premium classes frequently.

I use my status to avail myself of premium check in at airports and lounge access.

I have had similar experiences to those of others in this thread where I have been berated for using the CW/F check in (or equivalent with other airlines).

One particular incident was travelling back from CPT where the queue for Y was snaking back outside the international area. (This was about 12 months ago before the new upstairs facility was completed for the FIFA World Cup occurring). I had to squeeze past the Y passengers (for squeeze read ask politely then shout loudly and force my way past the passengers with twenty items to check in Y).

I was accused of queue jumping and being rude. However the BA staff were great and saw my plight and took me to the CW check in. I had two quite large cases and the women next to me in the Y queue was being charged for a second piece and asked why I wasn't.

Needless to say I kept quiet and the check in agent just stated "This passenger has already paid for the excess baggage and the privilege to use this desk". I was checked in and handed my boarding pass with an apology and moved from WT+ to CW. I was only using CW check in because of my shiny card! I tried to MFU but couldn’t so a result!

But it got better when we left the lounge and went to board I was in the priority boarding line and the lady started again. We were boarding from a gate opposite the BA lounge and not as is my usual experience one of the gates down stairs. As premium passengers had to walk past the Y queue.

As I was walking along the very same woman from check in started to give me evil looks.

I use LCC’s and find speedy boarding or similar not necessary. I resign myself to queuing and allow others to do as they can or wish. May be its just lack of understanding of how things work. After all we are frequent flyers and we know how it works. It’s the occasional traveller who misses out or doesn’t understand.

I have seen people with BA F tickets queue with Y for check in only to get to the front and then be whisked to F check in. On one occasion the elderly couple explained their son had bought the tickets.
