As drat19 said, I am a gate louse in order to get space for my carryon, and no other reason. Were it not for that I'd be thrilled to board last. In every case recently that I have boarded near last (late arrivals into ATL and DTW caused them) even though I have been in FC there has been no space fro my quite small carryon. On one of those the FA moved her bags from my overhead to provide room and on the other I was forced to check my bag, That is why I am a gate louse. I'll remain one until there is some discipline in overhead management. Thus, I'll be a louse forever. I'll still let the wheelchairs on first though.
