The sky miles are worthless. I used up some miles twice this year and had to pay over 25k miles for the return trip. Even using the miles for magazines are useless because one can't use miles for renewing subscriptions. I had a Wall-Street journal subscription that I had to renew by paying cash.

I realize by being suckered in to chasing status I end up flying crappy delta planes (many of which don't even have personal TV screens) while flying international instead of flying Qantas, Emirates, SIA etc. Delta's degrading the value of the miles will make it easier to stop chasing Delta bookings.
