WolfieCR, That is quite a teaser about the two "tourist" things in San Jose. What ones are you thinking about? Depending on the traveler, they may be more. For instance a fisherman may like visiting the Hotel Del Rey, whereas someone interested in Jade or Gold would go to the other types of museums.

But good advice about the roads, most to the pacific coast are still closed, or only on lane open. Arenal still looks open but any more rain could bring the hillsides down around there also.

The OP shoud be able to find WiFi in most places, but shouldn't tote the laptop through the streets in San Jose or any other tourist areas. I would spend one of the nights near the volcano on the off chance that the evening clears up and you get a piro show. Have fun
