Never had any problems using the Premier check-in as a Plt.

The EI Dub lounge does have views of the runway. No food except biscuits but lots of booze and soft drinks. Also, a couple of adequate coffee machines. If you want a nice coffee try the Butlers chocolate shop just inside security. Much more pleasant than the restaurants upstairs.

EI seem to have recently re-introduced its old onboard beverage service which can confuse US travellers accustomed to $5 drinks in coach. A typical exchange

FA : Beer, wine, OJ or water?
Flier : I'll have a diet coke.

Flier : No coke? Water, I guess.
