Let's face it - the chance of people attempting a solo or group hijacking on a US airliner is miniscule. I'd say, under 1%.

These people are not stupid - they know doors are reinforced, crews won't cooperate, and they will be attacked by passengers.

The risk to civil aviation remains the same as it's been for decades - explosives. Explosives in unscreened cargo, explosives placed aboard by unscreened ground crews and explosives in bags or on people that remain undetected by security screening.

A FAM is of no value in these circumstances.
