if a "double" room is not a standard room, then it is not bookable with FWN. i don't know which St. Regis you are referring to but i had this problem booking at the W Washington DC, where standard "wonderful" rooms have only one queen/king and the only doubles were in the "spectacular" category...
but was "upgraded" to the doubles when i checked in
