I'm flying Jetblue on the AYCJ pass and have made SJO a destination this weekend. Given the weather (T-Storms daily) I'm trying to cobble an itinerary and wanted to ask the board for their thoughts.

I've searched and seen some great ideas --It sounds as if Arenal Volcano and hot springs is a must and about a 3-4 hr bus ride from SJO. I figured to stay in SJO the day of arrival and then make a bus trip to Arenal on Sunday --should I spend the night in the Arenal area? Any hotel recommendations? I'm traveling light but will have a laptop, etc --worth it to bring with me everywhere?

I don't want to over extend myself on trip but figured a trip to Arenal area for a day or day and half and then walking around downtown SJO, etc might be fine for me on Monday/Mon night. Flight leaves on Tuesday at noon so want to play it safe and stay in SJO...
