Change Fee
I was scheduled to fly YYC-YEG yesterday morning. While walking from parking, I checkked the monitor, and my flight was listed as "on-time". Kiosk spits out b/p for later flight, centre seat. Even ITN at midnight prior allowed me to book a seat. Seat map shows four allocated. I was suspecting cancellation, but 45 minutes prior, flight was still listed.
I ask agent at kiosk, and she says flight must have been cancelled. Proceed to gate on her advice to get changed to earlier flight, and the agent has the nerve to say that I need to pay change fee. I explain my plight, and that if they would have contacted me, I would have preferred the earlier flight. I loose argument, and watch as 13 people board the F28 flight. What was her problem.
I agree with Change fees for earlier stand-by, but when airline cancells, and does not give pax the choice, then this is just plain arrogant. Way to go, AC.
