I had friends that did abroad stints at both, and my family has always been historically a UNSW family - but all my close friends are USYD folks, so go figure.
I agree largely with Ben's assessment, though I may have to disagree on medicine.
UNSW is much better for beach, especialy since you can (and most abroaders do) live in Coogee and commute.
