posting etiquette (using "quote" unnecessarily)

I noticed this last week a severe excess use of the "quote" button being used for threads.

Recently it got my goat when someone posted a long thread with pictures and the first person to reply to the OP used the "quote" and quoted everything the OP had written, therefore making me scroll all the way past what I had just read by the OP, only for the comment by said person to be nothing more than a "^".

Have a think about it before you click the button, there is a reply button as well.
