The jet, a Fokker 100, lost one of its engines in the strike. Officials decided to make an emergency landing at Kennedy Airport, and the jet put down safely.


Maybe AA can file for an insurance claim for the damaged engine, not fix the plane and just keep the cash? Some car owners have been known to do this....

(please, no comments about AA self insuring against damage like this--MY COMMENT IS INTENDED TO BE FUNNY!--okay, just a little funny)
