Money? You're joking, right?

Another AA jet had an emergency landing at JFK this morning, this time due to geese:

Small Jet's Engine Disabled on Take Off at LaGuardia, Lands at JFK

(New York-WABC, September 4, 2003) — An American Airlines jet lost one of its two engines shortly after takeoff when a bird flew into an engine.

American Airlines Flight 549 had just taken off from LaGuardia Airport at 6:30 a.m. when the luxury jet was struck by geese.

The jet, a Fokker 100, lost one of its engines in the strike. Officials decided to make an emergency landing at Kennedy Airport, and the jet put down safely.

None of the 34 passengers or four crew members on board was hurt. The jet did sustain damage to the engine and possible damage to the structure of the aircraft.

Emergency landings happen all the time. AA doesn't routinely pay out money to the affected passengers.

. . . the luxury jet was struck by geese. Yeah, right - luxury jet.
