HaHa. It's a bummer. Bad things happens. Rocks my world.
At this moment, it's very hard to imagine that Southwest could ever be my airline of choice.
I left Delta primarily because they could never get me to my destination on time; and I'll need to remember that as I make new choices.
The lucky thing for me is that I do not suffer from FOC.
Airtran knows it will lose some customers immediately, and I'll be one of them. Ironically, I have a "run" tommorrow. But, for all I know that may be my last flight on Airtran. My elite status ends in 2011, and I now have no incentive to renew it. May or may not use up all my A+ rewards.
The people at Barclays were nice to me, but that card will be history.
I'll have to look into making a change at e-rewards and e-miles.
At least I'll be able to end my contentious "hostage" relationship with Hertz!.
I'm looking forward to the new frequent flyer program from the New United. If Southwest wants to play big, they need to make big improvements in their Rapid Rewards program. Right now today, if I was flying to a city on Southwest, I'd be renting my car through AA.com, and paying for it on a card getting some other airlines miles.
