first bag free DOES NOT WORK!
I have been to the airport twice gladly holding my Amex platinum card, only to have the Delta agents charge me for my first bag.

When I call the AMEX skymiles customer service, they tell me that you do not have to use the amex card to purchase the flight in order to get the first bag free. The Delta agents say that you must use your amex card. I do not see any mention of this in the fine print.

Can someone please advise?
