silvers get nothing

alaska air only recognizes gold and up on elite status. if you are silver, you are not worthy of recognition. i booked a code-share and selected a "premium" seat on the delta site, only to have the alaska air folks give me the cold shoulder. i was informed that the "premium" alaska seats are only for THEIR frequent flyers FIRST, and certainly not for silver medallions on delta. and i had MANY conversations with supervisors from both airlines trying to get even a non-preferred seat to "stick" when i chose it. eventually, the "back of the plane seat" disappeared (several times) until i was advised that i was remaindered to "to be assigned at the gate" seat status.

bottom line...silver is not a recognized status on alaska. and as the days go by, recognized less and less by delta....sigh
