Here's some AA trivia:

Although crashes usually result in retirement of the doomed flight number, there are exceptions.

AA Flight 1, NYC-Los Angeles, crashed in January 10, 1945, just outside Burbank. Donna Reed (lucky her) was bumped from the flight in ELP.

AA1 remains in use to this day to identify the second JFK-LAX flight each morning.
