BRU just does not have the infrastructure for one more set of flights, period - especially with full loads in biz that Jet has nowadays...
I also wouldn't put all my eggs in LH's basket - they are actually a competitor, as they run SN!
(BRU is also not pleasant to transit thorugh - I prefer FRA *much* better, even though it's larger and more convoluted)
