I am not too concerned about time off from work or specific days that I will be in the Dam. I will have just as much fun on a Wednesday night as I would on a Friday or Saturday night there. I have a flexible work schedule that includes about 5 weeks of paid time off, so no worries there.

I actually love the non-stop overnight flight from BOS-AMS which has me arriving in AMS as the city is waking up. Cool

I am 41 years old, married and have two kids so I won't exactly be partying real hard. Will be hitting up some museums, coffeeshops, pubs, eating some good food, meeting locals and taking a day trip or two to Haarlem and Bruges. Plan to hire a bike for the week and will be staying in an apartment in the Jordaan (instead of a hotel) to try to immerse myself in the local culture a bit.

Anyway, thanks for all of the advice. Keep it coming if you have more to offer regarding Delta, KLM and using my Skymiles.
