Yes. You have to enter SA to pick up bags. The other half insists of a suitcase full of safari clothing and another suitcase for urban wear whenever we visit SA so I always travel with loads of bags.

I once even got the travel agent to hire a car to take our bags to a safari camp near Port Elizabeth when we had to travel to camp in a very small plane. Normally, National Air to the Sabi Sands area allows us to leave our bags (containing the urban wear) at the JNB terminal which we pick up on our way back.

In India, the trail of porters following us with one bag each becomes rather reminsent of a distant time when travel was by horse.
